Marwar Muslim Educational & Welfare Society was established in the year 1929 to ameliorate the cause of education among weaker sections of the society in general and Muslim in particular. The founders of the Society  were goal driven and had innate fervour to serve the community.

Patron Ummed Singh ji (The Maharaja of Jodhpur) extended his benevolence towards the community by gifting a high school , named "Darbar Muslim School” on 18th February 1936.  The school contributed by producing eminent alumni who occupied prominent positions in both government and private sectors in Independent India.  After Independence , the Government of Rajasthan took over the infrastructure and assets of the school and renamed it as Mahatma Gandhi School.

Society continued its struggle to get back the school and the efforts paid back. School was not returned , however the government allocated 5 acres of land to the society. On January 2, 1981, the foundation stone of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Muslim Senior Secondary School was laid down on the allotted land. The school was inaugurated on 11th Sep. 1988, by Shri Shiv Charan Mathur (Chief Minister of Rajasthan) in the presence of Sri Ashok Gehlot (Member of Parliament)

There was no looking back after that. Society constantly worked harder to make the region a better place by providing avenues for education, health and social upliftment for marginalised societies
